Description:The Nashville Tennessean is seeking an Advertising Consultant to drive the growth of online rentals revenue by selling Apartments.com and other Tennessean products to rental customers in the Nashville area. Apartments.com is a top national online apartment guide and relocation resource distinguished by its highly customized searches, superior visual ads and affiliation with more than 1000 partner websites across the country.

This is an outstanding career opportunity for candidates with online sales experience to move up, selling one of the Internet’s best brands—Apartments.com, while working for one of the nation’s leading news and information companies—Gannett.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the rentals industry or selling online products, and passion for sales, proven sales skills, and persistence.

This position could be a stepping stone to other online sales and management opportunities at Gannett-owned newspapers and TV station in cities such as:
New York, Phoenix, Nashville, Denver, Washington DC, Indianapolis, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Sacramento, Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, plus many more!
Duties:
Develop and aggressively grow sales in designated geography through prospecting, cold calls and relationship development.

Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers through effective account management and service. Ensure their understanding of our products.

Up sell customers with new products and services.

Maintain a high level of customer service through training and customer support.

Ensure satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns or needs of the customers.

Participate in the local Associations and attend necessary industry events and meetings. Leverage these relationships to maximize revenue opportunities.

Help proactively market Apartments.com to properties in territory and convey the advantages of our product.

Manage and grow the effective retail rates.

Manage and monitor all contracts, as well as accounts receivable.
Qualifications:2 to 6 years of solid account management and sales experience.

Apartment industry sales experience preferred but not required.

Familiarity with the market and the community's rental properties base preferred but not required.

A proven outside sales and account management track record.

Technical skills to include, Microsoft Office Suite including strong use of Outlook and Excel.

CRM experience a big plus, but not required.

Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required.
