| Description: | The Tennessean has an immediate opening for a Digital Producer who will be charged with coordinating, editing and posting content aimed for mobile and tablet audiences. This person will work with reporters, photographers, designers and editors throughout the Information and Design Centers to create and post platform-specific content aimed during peak traffic periods for tablet use in the Nashville market. |
| Duties: | This job entails editing and producing local digital content for mobile and tablet platforms, writing headlines and other display type, and proofing work. The Digital Producer must edit content for accuracy, style, fairness, spelling, grammar and context. In addition, this person must be able to write precise and artful headlines that sell the story and engage readers on appropriate platforms, taking into account SEO and key work elements. This individual should be a wordsmith who can craft compelling entry points in prose. This person also ensures photos, graphics, and videos properly illustrate stories. |
| Qualifications: | Understanding of journalism and journalists, the local Nashville market, with particular emphasis on key audiences, media use and consumer behavior.
Proficient in content management systems (Saxotech, etc.), basic HTML, video and photo editing programs such as Photoshop and iMovie. |
