|Description:||The Daily News Journal is seeking an experienced photographer/videographer to shoot and edit outstanding photos and video for their digital and print products. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to operate with independence. |
|Duties:||This person will be responsible for breaking news assignments, but also be able to self-generate video and photo stories and assignments. Flexible work hours are required to handle breaking news and projects. This person must be able to lift heavy photography equipment and do extensive walking and standing.|
|Qualifications:||College degree or equivalent experience preferred. Work experience at a daily newspaper preferred. Must have computer skills - Mac and PC/Microsoft software. Video production software such as iMovie and FinalCut and photo editing software such as Photoshop are critical to success. Knowledge of video transmitting software is key as is knowledge of video cameras, video editing and digital photography equipment and techniques. Understanding of social media sites, search functionality and a general understanding of how people use the internet to find photos and videos are helpful. |
